I have a pair of perforated leather motorcycle gloves. They are reinforced in the palms and look adequate to me to keep the skin on my hands and fingers during a slide, but they have none of the armour on the knuckles or fingers that I notice a lot of other glove have. Is it worth it to invest in a pair of more protective gloves? And if so, can anybody recommend a good pair in the sub $50 range? Thanks

Its more than riding naked in baggage you lint or if any police may be concerned about that. Pants help then. Or you could just tell the police you were in such a hurry to go to church on time you forgot to put them on. Levis should be enough if you know how to ride. Trunks or thin pants leave you embark on to muffler burns or large boulevard burn scrapes if you descend and slide crosstown the highway for 15 feet at 30mph or more.
If you plan on a lot of riding distances on freeways its smart to plan ahead all for the possibility of accidents caused by others. Later leather will protect.
I rode 100000 miles without them.
It only takes one moment of carelessness to move down .
